They all work on my machine, today, comments and corrections are more than welcome. I was assisted by Simon Amor of LeLUG with some of this code.
version of netstat
shows if the specified interface is in promiscious mode or not
VERY BROKEN CODE compares the output of w with the contents of /dev/pts and emails you if there's a discrepancy
compares the output of netstat with the contents of /proc/net and mails you if there's a discrepancy
little perl script to see if your disks are getting full
